Spring time in Texas means the wildflowers are on FULL display – showing off their vibrant blues, reds, and yellows! I went on a quick trip to Round Top yesterday and it was the quintessential Texas spring day – driving down a back road, rolling fields of bluebonnets, white farmhouses dotted across the landscape, cows, horses, goats, and other livestock spread across the horizon, and a perfect 80 degree day with low humidity.

To get a view of the bluebonnets closer to Houston, I suggest taking the family for a stroll at Terry Hershey Park. You can park on Mayde Creek Drive and follow the trail to an opening across a little foot bridge to a bluebonnet haven. Bring the kids, dogs, water, and snacks, and while on your walk, snap some pics of the littles in the bluebonnets. The park itself is lovely and is so peaceful in the early mornings and evenings.
