Oink! Baa! Cluck! Moo! Savannah & Sullivan are TWO!

And this farm animal party will make you want to party ’til the cows come home! Or at least until naptime 🙂

Invitations & Printed Goods

I have always believed that the invitation is the starting point for any party. When I decided to go with the farm animal theme, I searched Etsy for farm animal birthday party invitations, and came across the CUTEST invitations. DesignMyPartyStudio offers online invitations and pretty much any printable accessory you could imagine for themed parties. The best part about purchasing these invitation is they are customizable and extremely affordable.

I decided to go with this invitation:

I edited the wording and details on the invitation and had them printed at Office Depot.

Y’all. I’m not even kidding. DesignMyPartyStudio literally has anything you could imagine for printables >> thank you cards, water bottle labels, coloring pages, scavenger hunts, food labels, blank labels with the theme background, banners, party hats, and more. Click here to browse their entire selection of farm animal themed items.

If you look on the lower right hand side of the picture, you will see I blew up a copy of the invitation and had it printed on a board. I did it last year as well, and think it’s a kind of fun tradition.

I also had this coloring page printed to add into the party favor bags.

Decor

Balloons: Leslie’s Decor and More

Y’all! The little animal balloons were so much fun. The kids could run and pull them behind them, sometimes they would float in the air, and by the end of the party, they were in the pool! And…..the clear bubble balloons with the smaller balloons inside amazed everyone. I kept hearing, “How did she do that?” 🙂

Party Hearty Box

Party Hearty Box wants you to have a stress free party and creates party boxes with things such as plates, napkins, cups, plastic wear, table cloths, candles, tattoos, diy balloon garland, etc. Having this box shipped to my door was beyond easy and made planning so stress free! And, the print they sent was the CUTEST by Lindsey Balbierz for Daydream Society!

Here are some of the other decorations:

I’m a sucker for hay at parties – especially farm, fall, harvest themed – anything like that, and in my opinion, you better have hay somewhere. Plus it’s just a good neutral that adds texture and dimension. Oh, and extra seating.

Food

The food is my favorite part. Between my mom and my friends (all listed below) I think we had a pretty good spread!

Cake: Baked by Brackney

I love the look of semi-naked cake. I’m not sure if there is a proper baking term for that, but you know what I mean. Amy from Baked by Brackney made the most amazing cake. It had that semi-naked look, but with some of the colors of the invitation. It was exactly what I had in mind. I used some of the Schleich animals to decorate it.

Cookies: The Flakey Baker

Caitlin at The Flakey Baker can literally work magic with her cookies. I have no idea how she does it, but she does amazing work (you should also check out her weekly cookie creations….)

Charcuterie: The Cheese Chica

This was a last minute add. But only because Lauren at The Cheese Chica started her business the week before the party. When I saw her first few posts go live, I knew I HAD to have one of her boxes. And y’all – I wasn’t the only one. When she delivered my box the day before the party, she said she had 16 more deliveries to make! I just always go back to the meme that says, “Of course our generation loves charcuterie boards! We were raised on lunchables!”

Chicken Coop: Chick-Fil-A chilled nuggets

They were bought the day before (cold) and then warmed up the morning of the party. Everyone from little kids to the adults love Chick-Fil-A nuggets.

Pig Pen

I’ve made these before for other parties and they are always a hit. Also, these can be made the day before and served room temp making it super easy the day of.

Fruit Stand & Vegetable Patch

I wanted to have a healthier option so decided to have a fruit stand and vegetable patch. I don’t have a pic of the veggie patch, but it was carrots and celery with mini ranch dressing cups.

Fish Pond

How fun is this? And my mom was even super extra and put blue string lights underneath the fish to make it look like water!

Drinks

You can’t go wrong with a big ol’ dispenser of lemon lime water – especially on a HOT August day. It’s always important to have plenty of waters around for your guests to rehydrate. We also had smaller tubs of the 8 oz. bottled waters placed throughout the party for people to grab.

And this…..again, from DesignMyParty. I’m totally saving this to use again!

Party Favors

Adopt A Pet! I ordered these animals from Amazon and the barn was one of my brothers from when they were a kid. The guests got to pick out an animal to take home with them – aka adopt – along with a goodie bag with bubbles and this coloring page from DesignMyParty.

Something I would have done had I had a bigger budget is order the Jellycat “If I Were A…..” books and stuffed animal that goes with the book. There are so many different options to choose from and the twins LOVE these books, but it’s definitely a bit more pricey; however, I still wanted to share this idea with you.

Outfits

Our outfits were from Smocked Auctions. Sullivan’s shirt was monogrammed by Tagged by Tiff.

Special Guest

What is a farm animal party without a farm animal? Lamonte, my Dad’s horse, was the special visitor! How fun! Savannah loves making horse sounds, so it was perfect!

It’s not too out of character for my Dad to bring Lamonte into town…….

Well, I hope this blog post brings you some inspo for you next farm animal themed party! It was so much fun to do and fairly easy. We did a lot of the decorating after the twins went to sleep the night before and finished up a few of the food items the morning of the party. Drop me a comment below or send me a message if you have any questions!

Thanks for reading! And if you want to see more, head to my Instagram page where I have an entire highlights section for the party that also includes video!
