Lilly Pulitzer x Pottery Barn Kids
Happy Weekend, friends! I would just like to start off by acknowledging the fact that this is my first blog post to write in over 2 months. One of the main reasons I feel as if I haven’t been as successful with blogging/influencing as I would like to be is that I am not consistent with it. I know that, I acknowledge it, and I am working to find a way to be better at it. In the blogging/influencing world, it seems like so much emphasis is placed on Instagram (shameless plug…..would love a follow), that most of my focus goes there; however, what I really love is this part – the blog posts. Finding a topic and writing about it. With all of life’s demands and responsibilities, this is usually one of the first places to be cut when I’m short on time or just exhausted. And then, it gets to a point where I’ve gone so long, that it’s hard to pick it back up (I know you’ve been there…….)
Because I am returning to working in an office setting this upcoming week (it has been almost 2 years of working from home,) I am really spending some time this weekend taking care of personal and blog related items – cleaning up both inboxes and corresponding folders, following up with brands that have reached out, unsubscribing from all the CLUTTER…..which btw, that in itself always makes me feel so good and productive. I hadn’t even looked at ToasttoPost.com in a few months let alone the dashboard (aka behind the scenes) part. My Instagram footer wasn’t working, I had some “Holiday Faves” up and decided to just clean it all up.
In doing so, I got the itch to write a post. My mind right now is alllllll over the place: kids, Valentine’s Day, work, workwear, meal prep, paying bills, spring looks, Easter activities & looks, but as I was cleaning up my inbox, I saw the Lilly Pulitzer x Pottery Barn Kids email from a few days ago and knew I had to share that with you.
I absolutely love this collaboration and think it would be the CUTEST for Easter, Spring/Summer birthdays, and baby showers. The collection inspires the littles to live life like Lily:
HAPPY
BRIGHT
FREE
Take a look at some of my favorite items below. While there isn’t a big selection for the little gents, the Turtley Awesome PJ’s are absolutely adorable. And for the little ladies, y’all, there are prints named Mermaid Cove and Unicorns in Bloom. There has been more than one occasion that my sweet child, Savannah, has requested for me to call her Princess Mermaid Unicorn…..so I’m just going to leave it at that.
Another “idea” that I have for a blog post that hopefully will come out sooner rather than later is to discuss how and why I decide to buy my children more expensive/name brand items. With this collaboration, I can see how it might be hard to spend $46 on a pair of pajamas, and I totally get that. But y’all, for me, it all comes down to quality over quantity. I’ll go into more detail later on, but I’ll just leave you with this question: How much money did you spend on your last Target run filled with junk (and probably a customized Starbucks drink?)
There is also a Lilly Pulitzer x Pottery Barn Teen which I’ll link here for you. Now I’m wondering if I could squeeze into some of the “teen” sizes 🙂 Have a lovely weekend!
Cheers – MP
