|The Monday Post| #42 – The Where I Shop For Work Edit
“Never underestimate the power of a good outfit on a bad day.” – Unknown
Being in the workforce for over 10 years now, I’ve had plenty of time to explore and find my workwear style. I know what stores I like, what size I (usually) am, what “works” for me, and what doesn’t. I know how much I am willing to spend on a piece and the difference between buying a cute and trendy blouse versus a classic blazer. I know where to shop for work because I have done it for years and am excited to share three of my favorites with you. I always feel more awake and with it when I put in the effort in the morning to make myself look presentable at work. Like the saying says, “Fake it ’til you make it!”
Shop for Work #1 – Loft
I remember being a kid and going into Ann Taylor Loft (before it was just Loft) with my mom. Little did I know that as an adult I would find myself in this store on my own free will. A very large portion of my closet comes from Loft and here’s why:
- very affordable
- constantly runs sales – if you find a FREE SHIPPING sale, take advantage as they don’t do those often
- good quality
- trendy AND classic
- wide range of options – from casual, work out, swimwear, dresses, all the way to full power suits
- geographical location
I’m pretty sure that I wore a piece from Loft every single day last week. Take a look below at some of the items I have on my wish list.
Shop for Work #2 – Target
I mean, who wouldn’t love buying milk, diapers, towels, and a dress for work all in the same place 🙂 In all seriousness, the A New Day and Who What Wear collections from Target are my jam. The skirt in the feature photo above is the first photo in the widget below – it also comes in red and leopard print!

Shop for Work #3 – Nordstrom
Many people have the misconception that Nordstrom is a very pricey department store. It definitely does carries high end, but it also carries much more affordable brands such as BP, Caslon, All in Favor (which used to be Lush,) and Halogen. My advice to you would be to use the filter options on the left side to filter out the items that are out of your price range. For example, when I search for “pumps”, the third image is a pair of Christian Louboutins priced at $695. But, by using the filter options on the left hand side, I can select what I want my price range to be. Nordstrom offers a WIDE range of reputable brands at all price points and for all occasions. It is definitely worth checking out.
Take a look at my choices below.
Other stores I find workwear clothes from include Nordstrom Rack, Dillard’s, and Amazon.
