Stocking Stuffers under $25

I still remember the gifts my brothers and I would receive in our Christmas stockings when we would celebrate St. Nicholas day.  One of the gifts we always received was an orange – and if you are unfamiliar with the story of St. Nick, you may be wondering why we received this gift.  Apparently the story is that St. Nick inherited a large sum of money after his parents passed away.  At some point, he came across a man with three daughters.  The man was very upset because he didn’t have any money to pay for a dowry and was worried his daughters would never marry.  Because St. Nick devoted his life to helping others, once he learned of this man’s problem, he threw three bags of gold down the man’s chimney one night.  The bags of gold landed in the girls’ stockings that were hanging to dry by the fireplace.  We now use oranges to symbolize the gold that St. Nick was so generous in giving to the poor.  Nowadays, I hear more stories of people receiving gifts in their stockings on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.  And they are usually small, low value gifts.  Because today is St. Nicholas Day, I have compiled some of my favorite cute little stocking stuffers all under $25.  Happy St. Nicholas Day!

Cheers – MP
