|The Monday Post| #17 Mother’s Day Gift Guide for the New Mom

“All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” – Abraham Lincoln

Happy Monday, friends! I am so so so excited to share some of my favorite Mother’s Day gifts for the new mom. Let’s be real, several of the items in the widget below are items that pretty much any mom would want, not just new moms. I decided to keep this post as only Mother’s Day gifts for new moms instead of adding in expecting moms as well because I feel like it’s pretty loaded already, so I don’t want to overwhelm you, but would rather publish a separate post for expecting moms.

With that said, make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom – where I have my three favorite items that I, as a new mom, absolutely love!

Mother’s Day Gifts For the New Mom

I feel like several of the items are self explanatory, but some might need a little explaining.

For example, the Oribe dry shampoo. If you are buying a new mom dry shampoo as a gift, go ahead and make it something that will make her feel a little extra. This isn’t your Wal-Greens grab while you’re picking up the baby’s prescription dry shampoo, but a much sleeker, fancier, nicer dry shampoo that may help mama feel a little sexier (new moms covered in spit up, poop, haven’t washed hair in several days wondering when the weight will start falling off want every opportunity to feel this way.)

Clothing – loose fitting – pj’s, joggers, maxi dresses, etc. Look above for the whole when will the weight start falling off section. But, you don’t want to look frumpy, you still want to look cute, which is kind of tough. I also didn’t want to spend a whole lot of money because I knew (crossed my fingers and hoped) I would lose the weight eventually.

Hand cream – give me alllllll the hand cream. My hands get so dry from the endless amounts of washing and applying hand sanitizer that I have to put on hand cream at night to prevent cracking.

Ring doorbell – when mama is at home by herself with the new baby, there is no way she wants to get up and answer the door for safety reasons or she is nursing/pumping or sleeping. With the Ring doorbell cam, she can see who is at the front door without having to answer.

Coffee cup – I listed two kinds. First of all, I feel the need to say you’re supposed to watch the caffeine when breastfeeding/pumping, but always talk to your doc if you have questions. So, the first coffee cup is a super cute travel mug with matching lid.

Ember coffee mug – The second is a little more expensive, but totally worth it if you hate cold coffee. As a new mom, you may make a cup of coffee, but then baby starts crying, needs to be changed, fed, etc. and because that is your priority, you leave the cup of coffee on the kitchen counter. By the time you return to drink your cup of wake me up, it’s cold and makes you want to gag. This ember coffee mug is awesome and is remote controlled by your phone to your ideal temperature and comes in black or white. Enjoy that cup of coffee, hot chocolate, tea, or lemon water for up to an hour with this mug.

Beaufort Bonnet Company Bow Swaddle

These bow swaddles are beyond beautiful. They are perfect for newborn pictures and a beautiful keepsake to remind you of those times when your little angel was as close to the tiniest she’s ever been. And, all wrapped up with a pretty bow. Talk about making a first impression 🙂

Maya Brenner Designs Charm Necklace at Neiman Marcus

This is the so called Meghan Markle necklace that she dons with hers’ and Prince Harry’s initials. This was given to me as a birthday present last year and I absolutely love it. This is one of three necklaces I rotate through every single day. The other being below and the third a Roberto Coin cross necklace I got on my honeymoon. I catchy myself throughout the day feeling my necklace and gently touching the S’s – and every time it reminds me of the twins. This necklace is feminine and dainty, perfect to wear on its own or to layer with other necklaces. There are different options for necklace, including one charm, two charms, and three charms, along with gold or silver in color. I also linked some of the bracelets below as well.

Kendra Scott Charm Necklace

The Kendra Scott Charm collection is one way to personalize your jewelry however you would like. You can select an adjustable necklace, earrings, or bracelet as your base and choose charms that can be switched in and out as you please. I chose the S and S charms, with the August birthstone, and a tassel charm to add some flare to the adjustable chain necklace. Mamas can proudly sport their little ones’ initials and/or birthstones all day long. And, you can assemble the perfect necklace for a very reasonable price.

Side note: There is a state of Texas charm which benefits MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital which I would love to add to my collection.

For my Austin and/or UT Longhorn friends, she also an ATX and longhorn charm 🙂

Below are just a few of the many many charms she offers. Most of them come in gold, rose gold, vintage gold, or silver. Click in the widget below to take you to the Kendra Scott charm section of her website, which will then allow you to browse all of her beautiful charms.

Little Leggs

Y’all, I came across Little Leggs when I was pregnant and knew I had to have something like this once the twins were born. There are options for singletons, twins, and now they even offer dog posters. They are based out of Australia, but it was so easy to work with them via e-mail, and they accept USD. When my poster of the twins came in, I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to get it framed and on the wall. It is absolutely gorgeous in my entryway, but would look just as good in a nursery, living room, or on a portrait wall.

Right now, they are running a 20% discount with code: MAMA20.

Well friends, I hope you have a fabulous week! I will be following this post up with a gift guide for expecting moms for Mother’s Day later this week.

Cheers – MP

Such cute and chic ideas! I love the idea of a doorbell camera. I hated having people come to the door with my first when I was home alone and not put together! Such a smart, unique gift!
