|The Monday Post| #38 – The Tweed Edit

“You have to interpret what’s hot to make it work on yourself. If tweed suits are in, but you’re not a suit kind of girl, wear the jacket with jeans and a pair of Converses.” – Rachel Zoe

And I absolutely love Rachel Zoe’s advice here – especially when it comes to tweed. Tweed is a rough-surfaced woolen cloth, typically of mixed flecked colors, originally produced in Scotland. It isn’t just for grandma anymore, either. Tweed was seen all over the Fall 2019 runways including Chanel, Victoria Beckham, and Marc Jacobs. It can be dressed up, dressed down, worn to the office, to the theater, or church. I’ve rounded up my top 20 tweed looks for you – everything from dresses to skirts to jackets and a scarf!

To make tweed work for you, follow Rachel Zoe’s advice. Suppose you do not feel comfortable in a full on tweed suit, then just wear the jacket with jeans and a white tee. Make it work for you. I’m a huge fan of a tweed jacket with black trousers and pumps and think it is a very elegant and classy look. A simple tweed dress with pumps is always a nice look for the office as well.

Side note: I’m trying out a different format for this post – similar to what I used to do. If you are viewing this on a computer, you should see 5 rows of 4 products that are all tweed from various retailers. If you are viewing on your phone, you will need to scroll horizontally through to view all of the products I am at a point with Toast to Post where I am really trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t. So now I need your help and am looking for feedback. Do you prefer seeing all of the items in one big widget as below? Or do you prefer to see one item at a time? Thanks and happy shopping!

Have a great week! Cheers – MP
