|The Monday Post| #44 – The Valentine’s Day Gifts for Daycare Edit
“For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.” – Judy Garland
Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays that I feel like you either go all out for, or do nothing at all. Some call it a “made up holiday” by Hallmark, while others simply believe it to be named for St. Valentine. Either way, if you have a child in daycare or school, there will most likely be some sort of celebration needing a Valentine’s Day gift. As I was searching for what to do for the twins, I came across several cute and affordable ideas. Here are five Valentine’s Day gifts ideas for daycare, including what I did last year and what I’m doing this year.

Valentine’s Day Gifts for Daycare
Rubber Duck
These are the cutest little gifts to give to a daycare classroom. You can find the rubber duckies here, here, and here. I used string that I had at home and this printable. I made these last year for the twins’ classroom at daycare and they still love to play with the rubber ducky in the bath tub. To spruce it up, individually wrap each rubber ducky in a clear bag. So cute and fun! Thanks, Anna, for the suggestion last year! It was a huge hit!
Play-Doh Valentine
In my search for what to give the twins’ classroom this year, I came across this play-doh idea. Try here, here, and here for play-doh, and here for the free printable. What a cute and affordable idea!
M&M Butterfly Treats
Everyone loves m&m’s and butterflies, which is why this treat is so cute for little kids. All you need are m&m’s, pipe cleaners, clothespins, paint/markers, ziploc baggies, googly eyes, and glue. These could be modified for any holiday.
Directions:
1) Paint your clothes pins or decorate however you would like.
2) Fill a snack bag 1/2 way with the m&m’s, tuck the zipper part under to hide it, and tie it with the pipe cleaner to secure it.
3) Place your dried clothespin around the bag and pipe cleaner, glue on googly eyes and shape the antennas however you would like!
Awesomesauce
This is what I’ve decided to go with this year. The twins love applesauce pouches and I know their friends do, too, and it fits the daycare’s requirements of no candy. This printable is on etsy and an instant download. You can edit the info once you download it through templett.com. I already had an account because I’ve used it before for something…..I’m thinking probably when I made a Snapchat filter.
Have A Cootie Free Valentine’s Day
Y’all! This is genius for teachers, friends, older kids, and heck, younger kids, too! You can go all out and buy the fancy Bath and Body Works soaps, or keep it simple with something from the grocery store. It would even be super cute with a little hand sanitizer bottle as well. Here is the printable, and try here, here, and here for soaps.
Well, there you have it. FIVE easy, quick, cute, and affordable ideas for Valentine’s Day gifts for daycare. Enjoy your week and have a very Happy Valentine’s Day!
