Your Valentine's Day Guide

“A woman is like a tea bag—you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.” —Eleanor Roosevelt

Welcome to the fifth edition of The Monday Post and special Valentin’es Day guide edition. This is an incredible quote from Eleanor Roosevelt because it reminds me of how strong women really are. I think we {women} were made to be super strong human beings that can handle anything that gets thrown our way 🙂 And for all the mamas out there – whether you work full time, stay at home, work from home, single mom, work multiple jobs, dog mom, cat mom, or trying to conceive, I just want to remind you of how incredibly amazing you are. You wake up every day and put your family’s needs before yours and I just wanted to let you know how awesome you are.

This week, I am sharing some of my favorite red dresses for a Valentine’s date night, some of my favorite Galentine’s Day gifts, and closing it out with Valentine’s Day for the littles and other stuff you need to know for your Monday morning coffee break. Enjoy!

Little Red Dress

Red. Not just for the holidays anymore, but for all things Valentine’s Day as well. In this previous post, I wrote about wearing a LRD, or little red dress during the holidays. Today, I’m showing you how you can wear red for Valentine’s Day. Pair any of these dresses/jumpsuits with some pumps and grab a clutch with some statement earrings, and you are ready to go! Enjoy!

For Your Galentine

What better way to let your gals know how much you care about them than with a Galentine’s Day gift? Celebrating Galentine’s Day instead of Valentine’s Day seems more fun anyway. And even though you probably don’t need a reason to round the girls up, it’s a good excuse to get the gang together for some fun. I’ve listed some of my favorite Galentine’s Day gifts below. Throw in some rose and cheese, and you’re all set!

For the Littles

How adorable are the twins in their Valentine’s Day outfits? I just love dressing them up. Their outfits are from Gymboree, found here, here, here, here, and here. I am so sad to see Gymboree going out of business because I’ve found a lot of really cute stuff there. Now is a great time to take advantage of the sales they have going on. I’ve also linked some other great and super cute ideas for Valentine’s Day outfits and gifts for the littles. Take a peek below. You can also refer back to my twin registry guide for ideas as well. Enjoy!

Well, friends, I hope you enjoyed the Super Bowl last night. I didn’t watch much of it. The first half was spent feeding green beans to the babies and then giving them baths, cleaning up, giving them their nighttime bottles, and then putting them to bed. I watched some of halftime performance and Maroon 5 and Big Boi brought me back to my high school days. I’m pretty sure we can all agree that Big Boi won the Super Bowl with his coat……AND most importantly, they stuck to entertaining and did not it as a platform to push any sort of political agenda. Nice job.

Tom Brady now has to use a second hand to wear all of his Super Bowl rings, and Julian Edelman (who I’m pretty sure I had on a fantasy football team a few years ago,) won the MVP. Great job, guys!

Misc

Feb 5: State of the Union Address. This is when the president delivers his yearly address to a joint session of congress. You’ll want to watch. There is sure to be controversy, cheering, booing, sitting, standing, and so much more. This year Nancy gets her seat back behind the pres, and because they fight like siblings, it is sure to outline the political rhetoric for weeks to come; however, I don’t know if it will get as wild as a session in parliament, especially during all of the Brexit drama. Watch here. Maybe he should come to the US to do some refereeing here.

There is a new Avengers movie coming out in April, titled Avengers End Game. Anyone else immediately think of the Taylor Swift song? Personally, I cannot wait to see what the Avengers have up their sleeves and what kind of trouble they get into, oh wait, I mean prevent.

I’m pretty sure this is going to be the pool accessory of the year. Grab ’em while they’re still in stock.

Have a great week everyone! We’ll be in the 70’s this week in Houston – check out these two posts on bathing suits and spring get away outfits.

Cheers – MP
