The September Review

September was a fun and busy month. There is something about the excitement that fall brings that puts a little pep in my step. Check it out below!

Favorite Look of the Month

This was my favorite look this month. My Rachel Parcell hat is out of stock but I linked one very similar for you below. The twins and my outfit are all from Target (except my boots – they are several years old from Express!)

Favorite Song of the Month

Hands down Bluebird by Miranda Lambert! This song gives me allll the feels! I have several blue jays (ok not technically bluebirds, but close enough…..) in my backyard that love to play in the water right after I water my lawn and it just makes me smile every single time I see them.

Audible Books

I finished The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living and highly recommend you read it. It even inspired me to make this Apple Spice Bread! I mentioned before it has it all: a small town Vermont setting + apple pie baking contest + Harvest Festival + love!

This next book needs to be made into a movie. In fact, I’m crossing my fingers that American Royals II: Majesty does get made into a movie. And not a cheesy Lifetime movie, but a real one. It is that good. The Washington Family has ruled America basically since it’s inception and now a young Queen Beatrice is on the throne, and needing to get married (before Congress will take her seriously!) All your favorite characters from the first book are still here and there are some definite plot twists in regards to relationships. While it’s super cute and fun to read, what I really liked about it is the young queen finding her voice and confidence to rule and not letting anyone stand in her way!

Series Watched

Gilmore Girls – I’m in season 2 and love it. It is the perfect show to watch in the evenings when I want to decompress, walk in place to get my 10k steps, and eat my ice cream.

Tehran – on apple TV+ – this show is amazing. There has not been one Apple TV + series/movie that I haven’t loved. This requires you to read subtitles because it is mostly in Farsi and Hebrew. Basically what happens is a Mossad hacker gets into Tehran, but will she be able to get out without being captured?

The Home Edit – on netlfix – I literally want to rearrange, reorganize, and redecorate my whole house now. Thanks 🙂

Ok, so this is kind of awkward, but kind of not. When I was going through my divorce, I questioned whether or not to leave all of the blog posts and Instagram posts as they were – including my ex, wedding pics, etc. I ultimately decided to leave them as is, because that was a part of my life at that time. So, with that said, the most popular blog post for September was a post from September 2017. Why? I have NO IDEA! And, to make it even slightly more embarrassing, this was literally one of the first times I took “blog pics” as I like to call them….please, no judgement, I think I’ve come a long way 😉

Events

The twins got to visit the fire station in early September and got to see Papa Moose in action! They saw all of the fire trucks and ambulances and now every time we see an ambulance, they say, “Papa Moose!”
