The Stars & Stripes
Patriotic Tablescape
The 4th of July is such a fun holiday. I love it when people go all out – dressing in their red, white, and blue, hanging American flags, and playing patriotic music. And let’s be honest, one of the BEST parts is the fireworks show! This year, T and I will be hanging out at home preparing for the twins’ arrival, but usually we head down to Rockport, and let me tell you, there is no shortage of patriotism there. People decorate their houses, boats, golf carts, decks, etc. all in preparation of the boat parade that takes place on the 4th, followed by one of the most spectacular fireworks shows I’ve ever seen. I’m somewhat sad to be missing this year and have been every year that T and I have been together; however, when looking at it from a priority viewpoint, I think I have to lean towards staying home to prep for babies.
Because one of my favorite things to do at home is decorate the dining room table and because I’m feeling a little blue about missing the 4th in Rockport, I used what little energy I had left to put together this patriotic tablescape. It made me happy and was like a consolation prize – I’m not getting the grand prize of being with friends and family at the beach, but it won’t be so bad at home.
This American flag tablecloth was given to us as a wedding present and I absolutely LOVE it. Isn’t it just awesome!?!?!? And any pics that I can get my pups, Lola Mae & Tex, in make me oh so happy as well. Take a look at my tablescape below and I hope you find some patriotic inspo! Bring your ideas with you to the beach, pool, bay, lake, backyard bbq, etc. and make sure to get those flags out. My neighborhood already has them out and it is just wonderful to see them blowing in the wind.
