The August Review
“When summer gathers up her robes of glory, and, like a dream, glides away.” — Sarah Helen Whitman
August has come and gone. She left me feeling very satisfied while doing my monthly reflection. One of the things I also do at the end of every month is scroll back through my iPhone and clean up my pictures. I’m sure you can imagine that there are an insurmountable number of pictures on my phone – I mean, between ootd’s, try ons, and BABY PICS…… Speaking of baby pics, the twins had their first birthday and it was so fun. I’ve heard so many times, “They grow so fast,” but it is incredible how true that statement is. It’s not just a cliche thing to say, but rather the honest to God truth 🙂
Scroll through to see my reflections for August, and here’s to have a cooler September!

Audible Books
In a Dark, Dark Wood – Ruth Ware is an incredible psychological thriller author. All of her books literally make me want to sit in my car and continue listening after I’ve pulled into the parking garage at work!
The Last Widow – I’m also a huge Karin Slaughter fan and have listened to every single book of hers. All of the Grant County series, the Will Trent series, and all of the one offs in between. This book hits on all of the current hot topics – vaccinating kids, mass shootings, domestic terror attacks, racism, sexism, and so much more. Some parts me legit angry, some parts made me sad, and some parts made me extremely happy – especially knowing the background on the characters.
Books Read
The High Tide Club – This book was labeled the must read of the summer, and it definitely took me all summer to read. I caught myself trying to find every spare second to finish it, and boy are there some twists and turns. When a 99 year old woman summons you to her family’s island off the Georgia coast and tasks you with finding all of the heirs of her friends to “make amends,” you do just that. And uncover a lot of secrets along the way.
