“On my own I will just create, and if it works, it works, and if it doesn’t, I’ll create something else. I don’t have any limitations on what I think I could do or be.” – Oprah Winfrey
One thing I am constantly having to remind myself of is that everyone had to start somewhere. Every fashion designer, tech entrepreneur, real estate mogul, and restaurateur had to start most likely at the bottom and work hard to get where they are at now, but it makes so much more sense when Oprah is telling us this.
Chanel Foundation
This is seriously one of my new favorite things I’ve discovered. When the make up that I have pretty much worn all of my life just wasn’t cutting it anymore (hello old age and two babies 🙂 ) I decided it was time to try something new. So, one day after work, I marched into Dillard’s straight to the Chanel counter and showed them the picture of what my coworker, @loriftlife, had just recently posted to her stories. Some of her followers were asking about her make up routine and she had shared all of the products she uses, including this foundation. Y’all, from the second they put on this foundation on my face, I was in love. It is light, but full coverage, and feels so soft on your skin. I don’t know how else to explain it. It’s almost like a powdery feeling, but not drying or powdery looking, if that makes sense? The next day, I kept just gently touching along my jaw line and cheek area because in the past when I’ve worn a full coverage foundation like this, it always felt kind of sticky or would leave a residue on my hands. It is enriched with Luminous Perfection soft focus powder which corrects visible imperfections and leaves your skin looking soft and smooth. I definitely recommend trying this out if you are in the market for a new foundation.
Amazon Fashion
There is an Instagram page called Target Does It Again, but in reality, I think there should be one that is called Amazon Does It Again. In Amazon’s quest to take over the world, they have unveiled Amazon Fashion and Wardrobe Prime. They actually went live with it last summer, but are really starting to market it as of lately. Amazon Fashion is simply what Amazon decided to name it’s clothing retail part of their biz. However, Prime Wardrobe might be one of the my favorite things that Amazon has come up with yet. For Prime members, you simply pick out 3 – 8 items that are Prime Wardrobe eligible. They ship them to you, you try them on, keep what you want, return what you don’t want by using the prepaid postage label they send within 7 days. I mean, how easy is that? You can use this for items such as every day wear all the way up to formal wear, back to school clothes for the kids, work clothes, work out clothes, etc. For those super busy mamas out there who don’t have time to make it to the mall between daycare drop off, work, and soccer practice, this is absolutely for you. Look for the below option when adding to your cart on Prime to see if it qualifies for Prime Wardrobe.
Below are some items that qualify for Prime Wardrobe.
I posted this dress to my stories a few weekends ago because I absolutely love it and it is also an Amazon Fashion find.
Spring Drinks
The birds are chirping, the bees are buzzing, and the temps are warming up. Yes, those peppermint martinis and hot toddy’s sure were good during the holidays, but now it’s time to freshen up your mixology skills. I’m sharing two drinks that will impress any of your friends at your next happy hour.
Tuscan Pear Cocktail
- 1 part GREY GOOSE® La Poire
- ½ part Limoncello
- ½ part Ginger Liqueur
- ¾ part Blood Orange Juice
- ¼ part Simple Syrup
Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously, and strain into a rocks glass rimmed with sugar and filled with crushed ice. Garnish with mint leaves, dried pears or lemon confit.
Peach Basil Moscow Mule
- 8 oz peach vodka
- 24 oz ginger beer
- 1 large lemon (quartered)
- ¼ cup fresh basil
Fill a pitcher up with all ingredients and pour over ice. You can either add the basil to the pitcher or add it individually to each drink.
Twin Pics
I wanted to share a few of the 6 month pics the twins took. I’m working on getting all of my photos organized and will eventually have a gallery with all of their photos on here, so I am not going to share them all, but y’all, aren’t these the cutest? Seriously the absolute cutest 🙂
Well, I’ll leave you with this cuteness. Have a fabulous week! Cheers!
