….sparkling lemonade, a favorite small business, a HUGE spring sale, & the cutest little bunnies just in time for Easter

This weekend was a nice and somewhat relaxing weekend. I definitely have not adjusted to the time change and slept in until 8:30 am Sunday morning and Lola stayed in bed until close to 11 am! I woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day!

I did a super fun photo shoot with Hope from HKCameraFace on Saturday in Heights Mercantile which is awesome! It was my first time in that area, but won’t be the last! There is a restaurant called Local Foods that looks so fun and has this big outdoor seating area that I can’t wait to try! I also cannot wait for the rest of my pics to come in!

Saturday afternoon and evening were spent doing exactly what I said I wanted to do in The Weekend Post…..not much at all! Lola and I enjoyed some outside time, I did a Target try on, and then ordered a flatbread from Panera Bread while watching Coming 2 America. Definitely a silly movie that had me lol’ing several times! I also watched a few episodes of Selling Sunset and am in serious amazement at some of the houses! The commissions on the homes are around the price of the houses I’m looking at! LOL 🙂

Sunday was spent running errands….and running. I hadn’t worked out in a week and was kind of nervous to go running. I never know what to expect when it’s been a while between runs – sometimes they are great and sometimes I want to stop literally a quarter of a mile in. My MapMyFitness app wasn’t working so I just thought it would be a good day to just take it slow, don’t worry about a time or distance. I pretty much know where all the mile markers are in my neighborhood (by a school is 1 mile, the golf course is 1.5 miles, and in between two streets past the golf course is 2 miles and so on…..) I ran a few different paths than normal, stopped and watched the ducks from time to time, walked when I needed to, and had no idea what my pace or actual distance was……but it felt so good! I know it was in the 4.5 mile range so will most likely be a little sore after not working out in a week!

This week is back to the grind with Week 16 of PWR at Home and returning to normal work hours and daycare! Pray for us – it could be a rough one 🙂 With that said, here are the things that are on my mind for the week!

Sparkling Lemonade

This sparkling lemonade is AMAZING and so fun. It’s definitely a different twist on a mimosa, using freshly squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup. Recipe is as follows:

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

Heat over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolves.

1 – 2 cups of freshly squeezed lemon juice

I used an entire bag of lemons and got close to 1 cup. The next time I amke these, I’ll buy two bags for an even more lemon flavor. Mix the simple syrup, lemon juice, and bottle of your favorite bubbles. Use lemon around the rim of the glass with Penny Lane sugar crystals to give it that fun spring feel! One tip – add the simple syrup in slowly until it gets to your liking. If you are not a fan of sweet drinks, the entire simple syrup mixture might be too much.

How fun would it be to have this for Easter brunch! Use code MEAGAN15 for a 15% discount and watch me make them here.

Honeybear Pages

Honeybear Pages is one of my favorite small shops that I’ve found through Instagram. There is everything from place mats like these, to customizeable stationary, the most beautiful calendar, holiday themed cards and tags, and so much more. You literally cannot go wrong with anything from her shop. I hope I can get my act together with enough time this year to order my Christmas cards through her Etsy shop because the ones I saw last year were beautiful! You can shop through her Etsy shop here.

And how cute is this Bunny Bait card! So adorable!

Gap Friends and Family Sale

I shared this yesterday in Stories, but Gap is having a Friends & Family sale making almost everything 40% + an additional 10% off! How amazing is this! I bought Sullivan the seersucker pants and white polo, and Savannah and I the matching floral blue and white dresses. I seriously wanted everything in this product collage! It’s all so cute!

Sew Texan Goods Bunnies

These personalized bunnies by Jess at Sew Texan goods are just adorable…..and she’s bringing them back this year! They are $25 and totally customizeable! $4 flat rate shipping or if you live in the Katy/Houston area, you can do porch pick up! Click here for more details!

I bought these bunnies last year for the twins and they have played with them all year long. They are so soft and often make the bedtime routine rotation! I love how you can pick the bunny color and thread color for the name! They would be the perfect addition for any Easter basket!

Well, friends, that is all for now. Make sure to check stories later today as I plan on sharing what I bought for the twins’ Easter baskets (mostly from Target!) And the cutest book that they loved at bedtime last night. It was supposed to be part of their Easter baskets, but it was so cute, I had to share it with them early!

Have a great week – cheers! MP
