|The Monday Post| #12
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
As the first quarter of the year draws to a close, take some time this week to reflect on the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year (read the original post here.) I know the past few weeks for me have been fast and furious and I’ve lost sight of some of my goals, but I am making an effort this week to get back in line. It happens, and I’m not going to fret over it, but rather learn from it and move on.
With that said, I really cannot believe we are almost in April. January moved about as slow as a frozen over river, while February and March just flew by. In today’s post, I’m sharing all things summer. Spring has sprung and it will be 8,000 degrees {in Houston} before we know it, so it’s time to get prepared.
For the Ladies
Alright, so disclaimer. I am writing this as a 33 year old mother of 7 (almost 8!) month old twins with a fresh c-section scar. If I would have written this post a few years ago, I probably would have different bathing suits listed below; however, I do think that one piece swimmies can have the potential to be more risque than two pieces. I’ve bought a few and tried them on – notice you’ve not seen an Insta story or post on them, because they were horrible and were returned right away. It’s tricky, because I’m proud of what my body did and how I’ve been working really hard to get back into shape, but at the same time, I just don’t feel the same way I did before in a bathing suit. I’m sure it’s just like all things – takes time for adjusting.
PS – I do have one splurge item on there – the Krewe sunglasses. Ever since I saw Hoda Kotbe and Jenna Bush Hager wear them on the Today show a while back, I’ve been obsessed. But, they are expensive, so they are still a ‘wishlist’ item.
Baby Girl
I think baby girl swimmies are probably the cutest things ever. Savannah has two swimmies that are just adorable! The one she is wearing here is Kate Spade and from Nordstrom Rack. It was on sale, so I couldn’t find in online, but I’ve found the same suit in a different print (listed below.) Take a looksy – I tried to cover different price points because let’s face it – the second you buy a baby something, they will outgrow within a few months. I learned very quickly to buy baby clothes the next one to two sizes up, so both babies’ swimsuits are either 9 or 12 month sizes.
Baby Boy
Sadly, baby boy swimsuits don’t have as many options as baby girls. There’s a lot of blue and a lot of sharks/whales/fish. Seriously. I searched and searched and searched and that’s what I could find. But, as you can see on my little man, I was able to find some multi-colored suits. Enjoy!
Pool/Beach Accessories
How fun will it be when you show to your next pool party with some of these accessories below? Target has some great pool floats for adults and minis that are going to be so much fun this summer. Did you even notice the unicorn float is for a little kid? I mean seriously, too stinkin’ cute.
I’ve also added in other beach and pool accessories, such as beach towels, mesh bags, and puddle jumpers for the littles.
For other experienced moms out there, what am I missing for baby when it comes to pool and beach accessories?
I hope you all have a fabulous week. Coming up soon on The Monday Post is a bit on my workout routine, more office fashion, Easter fashion for mama and babies, and my nursery reveal. Cheers!
It works very well for me
