TWIN REGISTRY GUIDE|The Monday Post| #4

Special Baby Edition

“Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.” – C.S. Lewis

I’ts here! It’s here! It’s finally here! This week’s edition of The Monday Post is a special baby edition which includes my tried-and-true TWIN REGISTRY GUIDE. When I first set out to create my baby registry, I reached out to several friends who already had babies. From their suggestions, other blogger suggestions, and researching online, I’ve come up with my list of baby registry necessities. This list includes what my babies have used through age five months.

To read all about their birth story, click HERE. It was fast and unexpected and threw us for a loop!

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. This items on this twin registry guide are truly the items I have found to be helpful, necessary, and educational for the babies. Some were gifts from my registry, some were off registry, and some are items I’ve picked up along the way.

Disclaimer #2: While I do have twins, this twin registry guide is NOT only for twins. Other than the strollers and having double of a lot of these items, this list is perfect for singletons as well.

Twin Registry Guide: Travel

Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat – This came highly recommended and I have been very pleased so far. It is very east to install and comes with a base that stays in your car, making it very easy to pop the car seat in and out. It’s weight range is 4 – 30 pounds, and it has a removable newborn insert.

Contours Options Elite Tandem Double Stroller – This stroller has it all – front and rear suspension, contoured handle, canopy, sandal friendly brake, and adjustable seats – both rear facing, both forward facing, one each direction. This is the perfect addition to your twin registry guide that you will use all the time.

Car Seat Adapter for Contours Stroller – Whatever stroller car seat combo you decide to go with, make sure you have the adapters (if necessary.)

Bassinet for Contours Stroller – So I don’t have this, because I didn’t know it existed. I said soooooo many times I wish I had a pram when the babies were tiny, because it would have made it easier to go walking. When they were super tiny, I had to put them in their car seats in the stroller. I had no idea this even existed until now.

Car Mirror – You might have a small heart attack if you get in the car to drive and cannot see your babies. Also, these stay in place very nicely.

Car Window Shade – You want your babies protected from the sun and harmful UV rays. This one is great and does not require any sort of suction cups to make it stick. The static cling side of the shade means it is easy to install and stays in place.

Diaper Bag – You’ll be carrying this around everywhere you go. I’m all for the backpack feature and multiple pockets and places to store things.

Car Seat CoversCopper and Pearl – the cutest multi use covers. When you start taking your babies out in public (doctor appointment, Target run, etc.) you will absolutely want to cover them. This also can be used as a breast feeding cover, high chair cover, shopping basket cover, and one time I used one as a robe when traveling 🙂

TwinGo Carrier – Strap those babies on and get outside! The cool thing about the TwinGo is that it can be a single use carrier as well.

Take Along Mobile – Pop this onto the side of a pack ‘n play when traveling and entertain your baby for a {little} while.

Twin Registry Guide: Hygiene

Aquaphor – Use this for diaper rashes, dermatitis, and any other skin problems.

Pampers Swaddlers – These are my preference for diapers, and they make them in preemie size. One thing I would maybe consider: don’t get a whole lot of newborn size diapers – I felt like once my babies were out of preemie diapers and into newborns, they weren’t in the newborn diapers long before they needed to move to size 1.

Babyganics Hand Sanitizer – You’ll use this all the time.

Dove Tip to Toe Baby Wash – This makes the babies smell heavenly and their skin super super soft. I’ve actually used it for myself before.

Water Wipes – These were sent to me in a care package after the babies were born and I love them. They are 99.9% purified water and alcohol and fragrance free. They can also be used to wipe faces, hands, necks, etc.

Fingernail File – This was also sent to me in the same care package – I had not idea A) how fast baby fingernails grew and B) how hard it is to use clippers on a baby. Just ask Savannah 🙁

Hooded Bath Towels – These did give off some fuzz the first couple of washes, but they make for the easiest dry off sesh ever with your new slippery baby.

Hatch Changing Table and Scale – I’m obsessed with tracking my babies’ weights. I think it is because when they were in the NICU it was such a huge accomplishment when they would gain even a couple of grams (28 grams = 1 ounce.) I feel this sense of pride and accomplishment when they gain weight and weigh them before every bath time. It syncs to your phone and keeps a record of their weights. Another cool feature that I didn’t use much because I pumped and bottle fed is that you can weigh your baby before breast feeding and then after to have a more accurate idea of how much milk they are receiving.

Ubbi Diaper Pail – Newborns poop all the time. Like I think every single diaper change. This does a great job of containing the smell and it isn’t too bad of an eye sore.

Ubbi Diaper Pail Bags – You’ll need a lot of these, especially with multiples.

Nose Frida – If you don’t have a baby yet, you won’t truly understand the panic of seeing your baby super congested and thinking they aren’t going to be able to breath. Then, you’ll catch yourself sucking out their snot (yes literally sucking it out) and before you know it, it’s second nature and you think nothing of it. Poop, pee, and spit up never bothered me, but the first couple of times I used this bad boy, I almost gagged. Now, it’s not biggie.

Baby Ear Swabs – Babies have a lot of ear wax, which is good, because that means the wax is helping protect against ear infections, but you still need to clean them.

Johnson’s Bedtime Lotion – I swear this helps my babies chillax before bedtime.

Babyganics Cleaning Wipes – You’ll need a lot of these – there are a lot of surfaces to wipe down.

Changing Pad – If you opt to not get the Hatch scale, this is a great changing table. I use both of them and have them in different rooms of the house.

Wash Cloths – Pretty basic. I like getting a good lather on the wash cloth before using on the babes.

Summer Infant My Bath Seat – My babies love playing and splashing in the water and this is so much fun. They can sit in the bath tub and play and the seat stays in place.

Moby Bath Rinser – This was another thing I didn’t realize was such a useful tool. I thought, why can’t I just use a pitcher or cup, but this thing has rubber lining on the tip and acts as a water visor to keep the water out of baby’s eyes when placed against the forehead.

Johnson’s Baby Shampoo – I use this one every now and then for their hair. The Dove says it’s tip to toe, but I like to use a legit “shampoo” every now and then.

Head & Shoulders – Check with your pediatrician before using this. Mine recommended it due to dermatitis.

Honest Company Laundry Detergent – It’s plant derived, hypoallergenic, and designed for sensitive skin.

Dreft Laundry Detergent – The smell is amazing. Seriously, they should make a candle with this smell.

Baby Bather – You’ll need some sort of bather for the tub – this one is mesh, folds easily, and has three different reclining positions for baby’s comfort.

Twin Registry Guide: Clothing

LouLou and Company everything – swaddles, bows, mittens, hats, knotted gowns – literally the softest and cutest stuff.

Little Me Clothing – for preemies – here and here. My babies lived in the little me clothing for most of their preemie days.

Footed Pajamas – girl and boy. I like zippers, but honestly the buttons don’t bother me too much.

Sleeping Gowns – I wasn’t a fan of sleeping gowns at first, but as the babies got bigger, I started liking them more. These are my favorite and my babies still fit in them.

You’ll want a good supply of footed pj’s and onesies. Keep in mind, babies grow very fast, so don’t over do it, but you don’t want to have wash clothes every day either.

Clothing for daycare – My babies wear mostly onesies with pants and socks or rompers. I always try to have their legs covered and socks on just in case it gets cold. I am very sad to see Gymboree is going out of business because a lot of the twins’ clothes have come from Gymboree. They are having a pretty legit sale right now, so do a little shopping around on their site. You’ll also need to have “extra” clothes for daycare – pants and onesies mainly. So keep that in mind as well. Cat and Jack brand at Target has great clothes (I think they run a little big for babies) and of course Carter’s is a great brand as well. I’ve found some adorable stuff at Marshall’s recently – Ralph Lauren, Tommy Bahama, Jessica Simpson, just to name a few brands. You’ll probably also get a lot of clothes at baby showers, so I wouldn’t fret and worry about putting too many clothes on your registry.

Twin Registry Guide: Nursery

Infant Optics Camera – This has an interchangeable optic lense capability, can add up to 3 additional cameras and control remotely with the monitor. Plus, the battery life is awesome and it doesn’t hog up the screen on your iphone.

Motion Sensor Night Lights – These are motion sensor and you can stick them to the wall. I have one outside of the nursery and it gives off just enough light when I peek in on them after they are sleeping.

Blackout Curtains – Trust me – this makes nap time a lot easier.

Cool Mist Humidifier – These are great for congestion. This one lasts 10 – 24 hours depending on the setting and can also be used a night light.

Hangers – Ok, don’t think I’m weird, but these are a must for easy hanging. I first bought all of these velvet hangers, because I use velvet hangers, but they are horrible. Trying to put baby clothes on a velvet hanger just doesn’t work. These are the best.

Twin Registry Guide: Feeding

Dr. Brown’s Bottles – preemie and regular sizes – These are just my personal preference. The vent system helps with colic, burping, spit up, and gas. Also, they are dishwasher safe.

Drying Grass – I have three of these, and all the corresponding accessories.

Dr. Brown’s Formula Mixing Pitcher – Just imagine making eight daycare bottles without a pitcher…….smh. Here’s a tip: use your kitchen foodscale to weight the amount of formula that goes into a pitcher. For example, I know for 32 ounces of water, I need to mix in 141 grams of formula (which is about 1 cup of formula.) It’s either that or 16 little scoops – no thanks.

Sterilizer – I liked this one because it was big and you could fit a lot of stuff (pacis, toys, bottles, pump parts) in it at one time. And it only take 8 minutes to run.

Bottle Warmer(s) – This one gently and evenly heats which means no hot spots. It’s pretty small and doesn’t take up much counter space (even with two.)

Burp Rags (Cloth Diapers) – I have 30 of these, yes 30.

Burpy Bibs – here and here. These are also great when you don’t want babies them to spit up all over their Feltman Brothers Christmas outfit because it kind of wraps around them for pretty much 360 degree coverage.

Soothie Pacifier – This is the only paci my babes will take.

Bottle Brush – Here’s a tip: the bottom part can be used to clean the nipple. I didn’t know that until a couple of weeks in.

Dishwasher Basket – My dishwasher usually runs at least once, maybe twice a day. This is a huge help, especially with Dr. Brown’s bottles that have six parts per bottle.

Graco Blossom 6-in-1 High Chair – This one can be converted from an infant high chair, to a toddler high chair, toddler booster, and then to a youth chair. It has wheels making it easy to move around (hello cleaning) and can remove the top part of the tray to throw in the dishwasher.

OXO Tot Waterproof Bib – Use it and throw it in the dishwasher.

My Brest Friend Twin Feeding Pillow – This is for tandem breast feeding. It’s big and awkward and hard to maneuver, but it does the job.

Twin Registry Guide: Play

Fireflies – here and here. My twins LOVE these! Seriously, they love playing with them, whether they are hanging from a play mat or holding them in a chair, they absolutely love them.

Play Gym – Fisher Price, Baby Einstein. I have both, and they are both great play gyms. They are part of the reason why my living room is now a “color explosion.”

Floor Mirror – This is great and encourages tummy time. It’s adorable when they start looking at themselves in the mirror 🙂

Sit Me Up Floor Seat – I move this to the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, or wherever they are needed. Plus, the fold up for easy storage and traveling.

Play Mat – if you have hard floors, you’ll want a play mat. This one is grey and white and has borders you can put up when babies start moving.

Joovy Spoon Walker – We haven’t quite gotten to these yet, but they came highly recommended.

Bright Starts 3 Pc Teether Bundle Set – You’ll want allll the teething stuff you can find.

Baby Einstein Musical Toys – I love Baby Einstein toys and the babies love music!

Sophie the Giraffe – Be careful if you have a dog – of all the toys my babies have, Lola Mae (my dachshund) is bound and determined to get this one specifically.

Bella Tunno Teethers – These are absolutely adorable and my babies love them. Perfect for the car, play time, keeping entertained while changing diapers, etc.

Boppy Lounger – This is so easy to move from room to room and perfect for newborns.

Fisher-Price Baby Bouncer – Sullivan is sleeping in his as I’m typing this. These are also easy to move around, but these bounce and vibrate.

Activity Saucer – I just ordered this one from Amazon last week and the babies LOVE it. They play for a good 15-20 minutes in it (which is awesome!)

Jumperoo – Same as the activity saucer, except this one allows them to jump up and down. Savannah isn’t so sure about it, but in the few days I’ve had it, I think Sullivan has spent hours in it. He literally jumps and jumps and jumps and jumps!

Soft Books – here, here, and here. You can’t have enough books with babies and kids. I’m trying to have little Dr. Spencer Reid’s over here 🙂

Caterpillar Suppor Seat and Tummy Time – These were given to me at a baby shower and they are too cute. You can use them to sit with support or unfold them for tummy time.

Teething Toys – These can be used throughout the entire stages of teething.

Soft Block Toys – The more, the better!

Twin Registry Guide: Health & Safety

Gripe Water – YES! I mix this in with their bottles when they have upset tummies.

Thermometer – Part of the NICU life was taking their temp every time you changed a diaper (because preemies have a hard time regulating their body temp), which we continued at home for a really long time. Now, it’s good to have when checking for a fever.

Infant Tylenol – This is always good to have on hand. But, I feel the need to say, “Check with your pediatrician before giving to your baby.”

Baby Saline – Congestion in babies is no joke. Anything to help get out the congestion is a must have on my list.

Twin Registry Guide: Bedtime

SwaddleMe Original Swaddles – We started off using these swaddles and I loved them. If you don’t have a mesh bag to wash these in, you might want to get one, or wash these by themselves because of the velcro.

Swaddle Up Swaddles – I moved the twins to these when they grew out of the above listed swaddles. I seriously don’t remember what age they were, so make sure to follow the weight guidelines.

Halo Sleepsack – Now we are in these and the babies love them.

Rock N Play – These were key for naps and needing to be kept at an incline due to congestion or reflux issues. I still use mine to feed the babies if I am home alone and need to feed them at the same time.

Twin Pack n Play – I seriously ordered this only for the twin bassinet top part. We kept this one in the living room.

4Moms Playard – The best. Spend the money and get this one for traveling. You can seriously set it up in less than a minute.

4Moms Playard Sheets – I don’t think I need to explain.

4Moms Bassinet Sheets – The 4Moms playard does not have a twin bassinet option, so we set up two 4Moms playards in the bedroom and the twins slept in the top bassinet part, which meant we needed the bassinet sheets. I had four total.

Waterproof Quilted Mattress Cover – You don’t want to ruin the mattress, and there will be a lot of liquid.

Owlet THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER BEEN INVENTED. I will not sleep if the babies do not have their owlets on. This is another thing to spend the money on – you’ll thank me later. You can also use your FSA and HSA accounts to pay for these.

Sound Machine – I have two – one for their room and one to travel with.

Twin Registry Guide: Miscellaneous

On Becoming Babywise – This is the sleep training method I used. It may not be for you, and that’s ok, I’m just sharing what helped me.

Name Bubbles – I’ve not had one fall off and I have been using them since November.

Boba Baby Wrap – I loved carrying the babies close to me – but only one at a time.

Extra iCloud storage 🙂 I just had to up my subscription.

We were given a family hand me down Moses basket on a rocker that came in very handy as well. I would drag that thing all over our downstairs with the babies in it. And they loved being in it. I could sit at the table, pump, write thank you cards, and rock them all at the same time. Plus, the babies loved being next to each other. I cannot say 100% that you have to add this to your twin registry guide, because it is more of a “nice to have.”

I received a lot of blankets, books, and clothing sets at my baby showers that were not on my registry, which is totally fine and great! Because of that, I did not include those items on this list, because I have a feeling you’ll probably receive them as gifts.

If you have something on your list that you think I have missed, comment below and let me know. Also, if you have something that worked for you months 5 through 12, let me know in the comments so I can try them out. I can honestly say that this is not a sponsored post and every item on this twin registry guide is something that I use or have used and absolutely recommend to others.

Becoming a mother has been one of the most incredible and rewarding experiences of my life so far, and I know it only gets better from here. I created this twin registry guide for you so you may not feel as overwhelmed as I did when trying to decide what to put on my baby registry (twins or singletons.) Enjoy this time and make it fun. Reach out to your friends, family, and coworkers, and talk to them about things that worked for them.

One of the posts that will probably be published some time in February/March is my nursery reveal. I am so excited to share it with you in hopes that you are able to find some inspiration for you nursery.

And just a quick reminder: The Patriots take on the Rams this Sunday in the Super Bowl in Atlanta, GA, but I’m more excited for the Puppy Bowl 🙂 I’ll be sharing fun Super Bowl Party recipes and ideas on insta stories throughout the week .

Here’s to having a great week and thanks for stopping by to read all about my twin registry guide!

Cheers – MP
