|The Monday Post| #64

This weekend was a nice and relaxing weekend. I’m still amazed at how fast it flies by, and sometimes catch myself thinking, “What did I really do this weekend?” My Mom’s birthday was Friday so we went to eat at Whiskey Cake in Stafford and had a great time.

I’m really working on not over committing and over doing it on the weekends, so Saturday morning I slept in, worked out, did some yoga, ran a few errands, and kind of just hung out. I also worked on some content for Instagram posts this week and just took it easy.

On Sunday I did a mini photo shoot with JuJu Photography and cannot wait to see the pics! We were at Mason Home in Tomball and it was absolutely beautiful!

Here are a few things that are on my mind for the week πŸ™‚ Have a happy Monday!

On the Menu this Week

I found this heart pasta at World Market and plan on making it this week. I think I am going to make it three ways: with cheese, with marinara, and with butter. Surely the picky eating toddlers will like one of those options, right? πŸ™‚

Valentine’s Day Baking

Over the weekend I made these heart brownies. If you saw my Heart Sugar Cookie Post (click here) and thought it was too much for you, I promise this is seriously less than half of the work/effort. You buy a box of brownie mix and your favorite icing/frosting, and only need water, vegetable oil, and eggs.

Oh, and sprinkles. Like Fancy Sprinkles.

Use code MEAGAN15 for 15% off!

Here’s a tip: Once you take the brownies out of the oven, let them cool for a while. Use a cookie cutter to cut out the shapes, but when it comes time to put the frosting/icing on them, flip them upside down. The topside is usually kind of flakey and will mix into your frosting, but when you flip them over, the bottom is smooth.

Weekly Favorites

Here are some of the items I loved this week (and several of you did, too!)

  1. Kendra Scott heart necklace
  2. Smocked Auctions Heart Dress (and on sale!)
  3. Country Kitchen Pink Kitchen Baking Set
  4. Wal-Mart Under Dress
  5. Weiner Dog Tooth Fairy Pillow (I haven’t bought this yet, but there is also one in blue and I plan on buying them for the twins.)

Morning Mantra

Last week I started doing the Morning Mantra Yoga in the Tone It Up work out app and I am hooked. If you’ve followed me for a while, I’ve mentioned many times how I don’t work well in a chaotic environment, and lately, I’ve been feeling a little chaotic, trying to keep up with work, mom life, both Instagram and the blog, and all the craziness in between. In the past when I’ve practiced yoga, I’ve always felt more calm and at peace. This 10 minute session not only focuses on breathing and yoga movements, but also guides you to think of three words you want to focus on throughout the day. Two words for yourself, one word for someone else. So, for example, your words could be vitality and calm for yourself and kindness for someone else. Whenever I start feeling like things are getting crazy and too many things are happening at one time, I stop myself and repeat these words to myself until I feel calm again.
