The Weekend Post 2
Episode 2
Friday ended up being way busier and crazier than I ever imagined it would be, and left me feeling exhausted and worn out by the time the evening rolled around. I met my new boss for lunch at McCormick & Schmick’s in Uptown Park. We sat outside and the weather was AMAZING! I started off with the mixed green salad and then had one of my favorite dishes, fried shrimp, as the entree. So dang tasty!
This is where it starts to get chaotic – I drove back out to the Katy area and got a pedicure. I went from there straight to the AT&T store and this is where the life just got sucked out of me. I haven’t really shared much about what all has been going on with my phone because I want my blog and Instagram to be a positive atmosphere, but y’all, the last two weeks trying to sort out this phone issues literally WORE ME DOWN. I spent approximately 10 hours on the phone with AT&T, bouncing me around between different departments and finally, yesterday, had what I thought was a free hour, and went into the store. Side note: if I ever have a phone issue again, I will 100% always go into the store. I was there for 2 hours and had to leave to go pick up the twins from school, and by the time I got back to the store, my new phone was ready to go. So, in all, it was almost another 3 hours yesterday – I just left my phone there because I wanted to go get the twins from school (I don’t like leaving them there late on Fridays and this was way later than I’ve ever left them π )
So I’m looking at this situation in two ways right now and trying to see the positive side of it: 1) I FINALLY have all of my phone issues resolved. I had three phones and three numbers for a few weeks (one was a new work phone/number, but still.) but……2) All I wanted to do yesterday was a picnic in the backyard with the twins. The weather was PERFECT and I had it all planned out with the fruit and drinks and little games to play. We ended up just doing more of like “snack time” outside at their little picnic table which was still fun and then ordering cheese quesadillas and fish tacos from El Asador for dinner. I was just super looking forward to the warm sunshine and being outside for most of the afternoon.
These posts aren’t supposed to be long winded, but, I do want to get my two points across: 1) I can be a procrastinator. I admit that, and am working on it. And while this phone issue wasn’t exactly a direct effect of my procrastination, getting it resolved was. I had a whole weekend last weekend to get it done, but didn’t. There was a sign in the Jimmy John’s by my old office that basically said, “Do things you have to do today, so you can do the things you want to do tomorrow,” and I am really trying to live by that motto, and 2) I will 100% always go into the AT&T store. Nicole at the store on Fry Rd and Seven Meadows Parkway was the BEST. She could tell how frustrated I was, was very calm and understanding, and was the only person who actually helped my situation. If I could give her a customer satisfaction rating, it would be 5 STARS!
I won’t bore you with all of the details of what the phone issues were, but if you are bored and curious, just send me a message or dm and I’ll gladly fill you (aka vent!) π
Okay, enough of that – onto The Weekend Post. There are some goodies in here, so make sure to read all the way through! Have a beautiful weekend!
What I’m Making
These lemon cupcakes look amazing. I thought about doing a raspberry icing, but due to a busy schedule and lack of having raspberries, I decided to go with this recipe for a buttercream vanilla! I’m excited to use the liners bunnies I bought from Home Goods back in like early February for these! Stay tuned!
J.Crew Factory Sale
J.Crew Factory is running a major sale right now and y’all should all know my feelings towards both J.Crew and Factory! Such a classic, clean, and preppy look. I have even more linked on my LiketoKnow.it page!
Spring Refresh
Earlier this week I shared 8 Ways To Freshen Up Your Home for Spring. And here is one more way! These sheets are absolutely adorable! Sometimes just a small change like this is all you need when you want to change the “feel” of a room (especially without spending too much money.) They are from Amazon and also come in the same print, but a blush background.
Umbrellas
These umbrellas were bought on a whim in Target one day. I’ve started bringing the twins to Target after school one day a week because I feel like they were kind of gyped the last year when it comes to working on manners in public. Maybe I shouldn’t say they were gyped, maybe it was me π The last Target trip, though, truly showed we need practice. We saw these umbrellas and they both went nuts. I don’t know why, but they did. So, in order to keep them from screaming the rest of the trip, I bought these umbrellas for them. They really are cute and they play with them all the time.
To Do This Weekend – Blessington Farms
We love Blessington Farms. Their pumpkin patch in the fall is phenomenal! And guess what? They are open for Spring Break! Starting today through March 21, they are open 9 – 4. Sadly, there is no strawberry picking due to the freeze, but plenty of other things to do, such as hay rides, tractor rides, slide and sand mountain, lots of animals to see (including camels), hay palace, birds, and so much more. When we went in the fall for the pumpkin patch, the twins, my mom, and I were EXHAUSTED by the time we left. I would recommend bringing a stroller or wagon, snacks, and water for sure.
Well friends, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! We are hanging around town this weekend before we head to the coast next week. I’m ready for that “Salty Hair, Don’t Care” vibe and hope the weather cooperates!
Cheers – MP
